(slide 1)
The Web 2.0 Application that I’m going to talk about
today is an image hosting website called Clashe.
(slide 2)
The phrase on the front of the website says “Clashe
is your online Lookbook” – it is as simplified as it sounds. You do not have to
be a web designer or programmer in order to use this tool effectively, and yet
you may wind up finding it very useful.
(slide 3)
So, what exactly can you do on this website? Well,
you can create your own Lookbook, which is essentially an online photo album of
a set digital images selected by you. You can also browse pictures uploaded by
other users by category or by collections.
(slide 4)
Before we create our own Lookbook, lets browse
previously uploaded Lookbooks by other users by selecting images on the top.
For this example, I’ll select the Wedding Photography Lookbook shown here.
(slide 5)
Once you’ve selected the album, you’ll be brought to
the cover photo with the option to “like” it or even favorite it.
(slide 6)
Clicking on the cover image will bring you to all of
the photos uploaded in the album – you can like any of them individually or
click on them for a larger image.
(slide 7)
Now, let’s move on to the main feature of Clashe –
creating your own Lookbook. First, you will want to select “add image” at the
top of the screen in order to upload images saved on your computer. Once you
have uploaded some images, you are ready to create your Lookbook by clicking
“add collection”. Of course, as you can see, you are able to manage your
collections by giving them a title and description.
(slide 8)
On the right you can select “add images”, which will
bring you to all of your uploaded images. If you have a lot of images, you can
even search by keyword to find what you are looking for more easily. Clicking
on each image will add them to your Lookbook collection. For this collection, I
have decided to choose my NBA Dream Team starting 5 players along with a coach.
(slide 9)
Before clicking “save”, review your collection and
make sure it looks the way you want it.
(slide 10)
Clicking save will bring you to the collections tab,
where you can see the collection I have just created – NBA Dream Team – and an
image representing the collection.
(slide 11)
Clicking on the image brings me to my collection,
displaying all of my uploaded images. You can always upload more or delete an
image at any time as well.
(slide 12)
Browsing back to Clashe’s homepage, you can see how
the website will display latest images and collections uploaded. Mine are
currently on here because I have just created them.
The great thing about Clashe is that you do not need
to worry about how you’re going to design your page and you do not need any
programming knowledge. Clashe exists to make your life easier in creating
digital photo albums and sharing them with others.
